For over a decade, we have proudly hosted the much loved Teeyan Festival across Gravesend and Dartford.
Teeyan celebrates womanhood, culture, and togetherness.
Through this event, we:
Showcase women’s talent and creativity
Bring traditional Giddha to large stages across the UK
Create joyful spaces for women to connect, celebrate, and be heard
We support and promote local and international talent of all ages, regularly showcasing their work on our social media and events. We highlight projects that share the stories of underrepresented communities through music, creative arts, theatre, and film.
Our publications began with our Saheli Writers group, creating a space for members to share their voices and stories.
With support from Kent County Council grants, we have written and published a range of books, including:
Recipe books in our members’ native languages
Poetry collections
Stories reflecting the lives of first and second generation migrants in Kent and across the UK
Publications developed through our writing workshops
Through these works, we celebrate culture, preserve language, and share the lived experiences of our community.
